This term our new theme is dinosaurs. We have looked at a poem called The King of all the Dinosaurs which is about a monstrous Tyrannosaurus Rex. We spent the first part of the week acting out each verse then we moved onto writing our own verses using poetic features.
1D are performing a verse of the poem below:
To give us some ideas for our writing we listened to a sound bite of a Tyrannosaurus Tex roaring. We wrote down similes and onomatopoeia words to add to our verses.

This week in Literacy we have been looking at a poem called
Travel Details by Stewart Henderson. To help us remember the poem we created
actions for each line. Here is a video clip of the first verse of the poem. The
actions are performed by agroup of children while the rest of the class
read the verse.
Inspired by photographs of a range of vehicles we also created
a class poem describing three well known vehicles.
Check back next week for more fantastic writing! Don't forget to share your thoughts and feelings.
